After checking out the Marilyn Banks and figuring out that we weren’t going to be dropping any hammers anytime soon, we went further up the hills towards a city called Montecito. Not sure if you remember about the Tea Fire in Santa Barbara that happened just a couple of months ago where 100+, million dollar homes got burnt down. (Montecito was the spot.) The homeys came up with a good idea and thought that the burnt down homes would have some abandoned pools to skate. One man’s trash can be the next man’s jewel. So we were on a mission for a “Poolspotting”.

Someone’s view from a burnt down home.

On the way up towards the main area that got burned down we got off the car and checked out alot of the homes that were at the bottom of the hill. The spot seemed somewhat unreal as if it went through a war. (Kinda like in the movies but it was in your face, literally.) You can see homes still standing and homes right next to it that were burnt down to rubble. Here’s one that never made it.

After driving around all over the windy roads in Montecito we ran into a “lot” aka “burnt down home” which looked like it had a pool! Too bad it was filled with water. Wamp Wamp.

Pool?

This was the 2nd pool that we ran into but had no luck skating it cause it was, once again, filled with water. Besides, the transitions were a little too steep. We were getting close but no cigar. By that time it was getting dark so we decided to call it a night and make it another mission to find our beloved poolspot. Onto the next episode…

Close but no cigar…
