Last week we had the opportunity to check out the LAKERS play against the undermanned Phoenix Suns at the Staples Center thanks to my boy Crumdirt. For anyone who follows our myspace profile updates along with our TWITTER ones, then you KNOW that we are huge LAKER fans. Shit, we practically update those status on a play-by-play basis by the minute!
I don’t know if any of you guys have actually had the opportunity to go to a LAKER game before but it’s way different from watching it at home. You don’t hear any sports announcers talking about everything play-by-play, in fact all you hear are sneakers squeaking from the ball players running back and forth from the court and the occasional cheer and boo when someone scores. There’s also a big portion of LAKER games that aren’t shown on television such as the halftime show (They had an amazing, female, chinese acrobat kicking bowls up on top of her head while balancing herself on a unicycle that day.) as well as the awe-inspiring opening ceremony of the game. The game started off pretty intense when we were losing by 8 at the end of the 1st quarter but after that we pretty much dominated and spanked the Suns throughout the whole game which kinda made it boring near the end.
