This past weekend after skating the Santa Clarita Skatepark, we stopped by the famous Santa Monica High School aka “SAMOHI” for short. If you haven’t been there before then I’m absolutely (actually positively) sure that you’ve seen this school at least once in your favorite skateboarding videos. SAMOHI has the blue fountain gap that everyone skates as well as the huge 14 stair rail that everyone jumps down.

Right as we arrived at the spot, we already saw a bunch of kids tossing their carcasses down that thing with Nollies, 180′s and even some with flips.

This got Riley & Steve a little hyped to jump down the gap themselves.
Riley, “You go first.” Steve, “Nah, you go first.”
But before that our legs were a little soggy from driving around in LA traffic and needed some warming up, so Steve opted to skate the curbs located on the top of the stadium for a little bit.
In A Bit…
After warming up and trying a Backside 5-0 and slipping out on the overwaxed curb Steve dislocated 3 of his fingers on his right hand. I repeat, “3 fingers”! (OUCH times three.) In the mix of the pain & confusion, Riley decided to take off his wife beater and donate his lighter so Dr. Oct can wrap up Steve’s fingers in a ghetto-made splint.

Needless to say after that, we were all kinda burnt on the spot and decided to spectate instead.
You can’t tell from the picture (because I’m the illest photographer ever), but this kid did a Nollie Flip down the Blue Fountain Gap, FIRST TRY.

These were the ledges that Steve slipped and ate shit on. Throughout the whole stadium there are bunch of these stepped-up and regular for sliding and grinding.

Even though SAMOHI is famous for the 14 stair and the Blue Fountain Gap there are a shitload of other spots to skate within the school. Like this 2 stair with a couple blue step-out ledges sticking out from both sides.

On top of that they have about every hammer dropping, 8+ stair, handrails scattered throughout the area.
This spot might look slightly familiar to you since not alot of people skate it, but I was told that Mike Taylor did a Frontside Overcrooks on the first rail recently? Shit is HIGH.
