So the moment of truth has finally arrived, “Action Sports Fishing in Ensenada” by yours truly. This was my first attempt at traveling on a boat 45 minutes out onto sea to catch fish. Needless to say I didn’t know what to expect. With only about 2 hours of sleep due to an unexpected detour watching the latest G.I. Joe movie with Spanish sub-titles the night prior for only $4, all of us woke up extremely tired yet excited at the same time and drifted off onto the ocean to go fish.

We arrived at the Port of Ensenada at around 5am to meet up with our (17 year old) captain that was going to take us out onto sea in the “Wahoo Too”. A 35 foot boat that’s roomy enough for all of us to store 2 ice chests and 5 people.

Halfway through our trip towards a particular area near an island we stopped by a bait shop in the middle of the ocean. Yesir, you heard right, a live bait supermarket in the middle of the ocean. We had to make a quick pit stop just to check it out.

Our boy Cisco didn’t realize that he sat on the styrofoam ice chest instead of the plastic one. This was the outcome…

BROKEN
Our 17 year old captain (Don’t know his name.) was a fucken G. He knew everything in and out of the sport of fishing and was friendly enough to set everything up for all 4 of us that were on board.

FRAGILE
In honor of myself the guys decided that I should get the first catch. After a failed attempt at the first bite you can say that we came up victorious. All together we caught about roughly 30 plus, 4-7pd Bonito’s within a 1.5 hour span. After the 2nd hour that passed we caught absolutely not a thing for the next 3-4 hours. Hahaha, wtf.

Blood Bath
Overall the trip was amazing and I definitely had a good time. The most memorable part of the trip was when all 5 of us had caught bites on our fishing poles and had to reel in the fish simultaneously! Hahaha, that alone was just priceless. Till next time Mexico! Going back home to Cali now…
