Hello Skate All Cities blog readers. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Caterina and I am from Santa Barbara, CA. I work at Powell Skateboards in Goleta, Ca and we manufacture and distribute BONES Wheels, Bones Swiss Bearings, Powell-Peralta Skateboards, Mini Logo, REDS Bearings, and a grip of other skate hardgoods. I do sales and some marketing. Anyways. I am super stoked to be bloggin’ it up on SAC and hope you are down to read my posts. I also like do to art, am very passionate about fashion & overall action sports lifestyle so I hope that you can enjoy those posts too.
Well now that you know who I am, here is my first official blog post! A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to work the annual Protec Pool Party vert event held at the famous VANS Combi Bowl that was just re-did at The Block, Orange County. This event was skateboarding at its’ best and showcased the most talented vert skaters in the industry. I know Rick likes to blog about street skating, but the homegirl likes vert so you will probably see more of my posts directed towards that type of skating. The event was RAD! Not only did I get to see some serious vertical skating in the fresh pool…. probably the best in my whole life…, but there were some solid slams, Van Doren was flipping some burgers, and they were blasting punk rock music the whole time, not bad for a day at the office. Special thanks to Steve Van Doren for hosting everyone and doing it up right. Here are some pictures, I hope you enjoy them.
CONGRATS to Steve Caballero for winning the event. Rumor has it he was wearing all yellow to celebrate Pac Man’s bday. I think.
